Health-related Reasearch & Development and Sector-focused Training
PULSE is IEA’s fast-growing new social enterprise of refugee and asylum seeker doctors and other health professionals who are addressing some of London’s unmet health needs. PULSE is researching the longitudinal health delivery needs of patients with chronic/long-term diseases and conditions while also researching the health delivery experiences of refugees and asylum seekers. It also provides enterprise support for refugee health professional and engineer entrepreneurs who wish to invent and market new health related technologies.
Currently PULSE offers external training in Health Foundations for Early Years Childcare Practitioners, as well as a follow-up preparatory programme in Work Experience in Childcare. PULSE is also developing a foundation course in Food Hygiene. We also offer internal training for its own professionals in public health research skills, as well as in business and enterprise skills.
The project is currently funded by the PRESTO and EASI streams of the EQUAL Fund of the European Social Fund, as well as by the London Developmental Agency.
